TRINITY WHOLEFOODS GOES GREEN(ER)!

After 21 years Trinity Wholefoods has just had a green makeover. The refit includes new energy efficient lighting from Luminair based in Brighton. They have provided a whole solution for the shop including Eco Drop pendant lights made from hand turned walnut shades from sustainably managed sources and highly efficient LED clusters. They also have lighting with shades made from recycled plastic.

Trinity Wholefoods used organic paints and varnishes from Ecos Paints which are totally solvent free and have 0% VOC content. They had a bespoke counter and shelving made from sustainable birch wood, in addition to all the existing shelving which will continue to be used. The refit also included the installation of several fridges which are much more energy efficient, as well as having reduced noise and emitting less heat. All the work was carried out by local businesses, including builder Richard Coppens from Battle and electrician Dave Cutting.

Trinity were awarded a Green Action Grant from the East Sussex BETRE programme towards the cost of eco lighting which will greatly reduce the amount of electricity they use. They also received a grant from 1066 Enterprise towards the cost of the renovation work.
